WORKSHOP REVIEWS
Chris Robinson 10/21/2009, Brentwood School, DesPlaines, IL:
I would like to thank you for the wonderful workshop. All teachers spoke so highly of your skills as an author, as well as, as a teacher. The students were downright giddy, having met the REAL author of THE CRYSTAL PALACE.
EVERY TEACHER AND THE PRINCIPALS commented on how much they learned from your presentation. We all particularly loved the cards! And they are very enthusiastic about a return visit next year! Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with the Brentwood staff and students.
Kristen Deacon 10/26/2009, Brentwood School, DesPlaines, IL:
Thank you so much for coming to visit us! I really think your presentation was fantastic and the kids got a lot from it! It was very cool having a published author and learning that the illustrator was their age! They loved writing the stories and it really got them thinking about writing! I can’t thank you enough and I hope you will come back to visit us soon!
Karen Jenneford 10/21/2009, Brentwood School, DesPlaines, IL:
Thank you so much for taking the time to come to our class! It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to reading several exciting new stories from our budding authors! I look forward, also to next year! ;o)
Cathy Teitelbaum 6/11/09, Richmond Street School, El Segundo USD, CA:
It was such a pleasure watching her and the class interact. What a wonderful lesson and fun thing to do with her granddaughter. It gives me some ideas.
Valerie MacKenzie 6/17/09, Richmond Street School, El Segundo USD, CA: I learned so much from both of you and was really impressed with the work some of my students created. This was so valuable for both me and my students! I also brainstormed on different ways to implement your technique into my writing lessons for next year. It truly was inspiring to watch a veteran teacher with so much experience and wisdom. Thank you so very much for a wonderful experience!
Cheryl Eastham 6/25/09, Sarah Adams School, Lake Zurich USD, IL:
I certainly enjoyed your workshop. It was an engaging experience for every level of reader. Every student had a chance to participate in some way during the presentation. While the story is about fairies, even the boys were captivated by the characters and action during the interactive lesson. Thank you for including the lesson plan for classroom teachers. I plan on using the ideas and story for my young readers this year.
